Pharmacovigilance, the science of detecting, assessing, understanding, and preventing adverse effects of medical products, is crucial for patient safety. In India, the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), under the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), spearheads these efforts. As of January 2025, several initiatives and programs are in place to enhance pharmacovigilance activities across the country.
